II.B.3 Development of Water Splitting Catalysts Using a Novel Molecular Evolution Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
Develop a high throughput (>10 • ) system for the synthesis of potential metal-binding peptide catalysts of the water splitting reaction directly on an array of electrodes. Quantify the baseline catalysis rate of the system. • Through iterative rounds of synthesis and analysis, • improve the efficiency of catalysis (decrease the observed overpotential for the system) by 15% in each of three years.

Hydrogen is considered as a unique choice for future world’s resources. The important parameter in the process of hydrogen production is the value of reduction potential for the used catalyst, in direct contact with consumed energy in process. The application of computational methods to design and modify molecular catalysts is highly regarded. This study sought to explore Density Functional...
متن کاملMetal–Organic Frameworks and Their Derivatives for Photocatalytic Water Splitting
Amongst many strategies for renewable energy conversion, light-driven water splitting to produce clean H2 represents a promising approach and has attracted increasing attention in recent years. Owing to the multi-electron/multi-proton transfer nature of water splitting, low-cost and competent catalysts are needed. Along the rapid development of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) during the last tw...
